Hello World! What to put here? I have a list in my mind of things I want you to know about me, but really I guess words on a page don't say much about who I actually am. I want to SHOW you who I am. I've been told time and time again, as a photographer, if I'm not blogging, I'm missing out. Well, I'm not one to miss out on anything, so here we go. One of my (many) new years resolutions was to get Olive Photo's blog up and running. I am not a blogger by any means. I've tried a few times, and I wouldn't say I failed, but I certainly didn't succeed  as far as regular postings go.
In this blog I want to give you a chance to take a peek at my work, to share my clients with you, but more importantly, to share myself with you. To give you a face and personality behind the logo. Now, I'm not under any delusion that very many people care about what I have to say, so these will be fairly photo heavy entries, but I like to talk and I LOVE to have fun so that will be sprinkled in as well.

To start, in short, I'm Lauryn. Wife, furmommy, photographer.
I married my best friend going on 2 years ago after dating him for 5 years. I met him a week after I graduated high school and he turned my life right side up.  I say that because I am the most chaotic person I know. I am stressed, and I worry, and I ALWAYS have something going on. Randy calms that side of me. He is the one person in my life that can get me to relax. That is priceless to a person like myself. He's my rock and there has never been a day where I have ever doubted his love for me. His is my treasure.
The 3 lights of my life by far are my sweet sweet baby boys. Sabastian Kenlee (Maltipoo, age 6), Samual Klemons Von (Mini Schnauzer, age 2) and Simon Kinglsey (Grey Lop eared Bunny, 1 year). Randy and I have struggled for 19 months now to get pregnant with a (human) child of our own, but you can't get much closer to children than these 3. I've had them each since they were only a couple of months old and every one of them are Momma's boys. They are the sweetest, funniest, most loving kiddos you'll ever meet. At the end of a long day I come home and cuddle up with my bugs and all is right with the world again.
Olive Photos was opened in 2009, but I started shooting long before that. My first job, at age 15, was an elf. Yep. I was an elf. For Santa. You can't make this stuff up. (I was the Easter bunny too in case you're wondering) That was my first time really working with the public and a camera at the same time. I'd always been interested in taking pictures (you know, flowers, pets, barbies, ect...) but once I got families and children in front of a lens, something really clicked. I worked there seasonally for years, and I even worked in a certain portrait studio that I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the name of. Studio work, while I still loved it, did not satisfy my need for lifestyle photos. Once I got my first 'real' camera as people call them, my work blossomed. I blossomed as a person, getting a chance to socialize and interact with new people on a weekly bases.

And that leads us here. To this time. To this blog. I hope you enjoy it. I hope you have fun learning about me, watching me grow, and watching my work progress, as thankfully it always does. This will more than likely be my last long post (I'm not making any promises, I told you, I love to talk) and the rest will be blurby, but if there is ever anything questions you have or anything you want to see, never be afraid to ask! I'm quite fun when you get to know me so don't be shy!
